Xin Wang is a Senior Research Scientist at Renal Research Institute. Xin has over 15 years of experience in the field of cancer research. Xin began their career as a Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where they worked for 10 years. In 2014, they became a Senior Research Scientist at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and implemented a modified ChIP-Seq assay developed by their lab, which significantly improves signal-to-noise ratio.
Wang has built analysis pipelines of Bash, Perl, and R scripts to analyze large genomic datasets generated from ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq assays. Xin has also processed and analyzed genome-wide enhancer profiling data of a large number of surgical human gastrointestinal cancer tissues assayed using ChIP-Seq. In addition, they have collaborated in developing a Random Forest Classifier to predict gastrointestinal cancer types using enhancer profiling data.
Wang has mentored several summer interns and technicians during their career. Xin is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Renal Research Institute.
Xin Wang has a Ph.D. in Genetics from The City University of New York, a Master of Arts in Computer Science from Queens College, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Shandong University. Xin also has certification from Coursera in Machine Learning Specialization by University of Washington, Machine Learning By Stanford University (Dr. Andrew Ng), and Data Science Specialization by Johns Hopkins University (10 Course Certificates).
