Emily Franklin

Emily Franklin has a diverse range of work experience. Emily is currently working as a Senior Project Manager at reNature, where they started in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager - Asia and Europe at the same company from June 2021 to January 2022.

Before joining reNature, Emily worked as an Innovation and Translation Consultant at Circular Systems SPC from June 2021 to October 2021. Emily also served as an Innovation Associate - Asia at Fashion for Good from February 2019 to May 2021.

Emily has experience working with international organizations as well. Emily worked as an Environment Affairs Research Assistant at UN Environment from July 2018 to January 2019. In this role, they focused on the inclusive Green Economy, Sustainable Infrastructure, and the Chinese Development Strategy. Emily was also the President of the Intern Board and UN Environment focal point for the Fair Internship Initiative. Additionally, Emily was part of the Geneva Innovation Lab and helped scale a site-wide professional development program.

Before their work at UN Environment, Emily worked as a Freelance Sustainability and Translation Consultant. Emily researched companies in traditional and simplified Chinese and Spanish for Global Canopy's Forest 500 project and ranked them according to deforestation indicators. Emily also researched companies from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong for ShareAction and ranked them based on the Asset Owner Disclosure Project indicators.

Emily gained valuable experience through internships as well. Emily served as an Advocacy and Communications Intern at Peace Brigades International UK from January 2017 to July 2017. Prior to that, they worked as an Environmental Affairs Intern at Chinadialogue from January 2016 to August 2016.

Emily also has experience working in a social service organization. Emily worked as a Case Worker and Fundraising Events Coordinator at the Chinese Information and Advice Center from September 2015 to November 2015.

In addition, Emily worked as a Research Assistant at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in June 2015.

Emily Franklin pursued their education at various institutions. In 2011, they joined SOAS University of London, where they completed their bachelor's degree in Chinese and Linguistics in 2015. During their time at SOAS, their field of study primarily focused on Chinese Language and Literature. Later, in 2017, they enrolled at Imperial College London, where they obtained their master's degree in Environmental Technology in 2018. Their specialization during this program was Global Environmental Change and Policy.
