Stan Ahalt

Stan Ahalt is the Dean of the UNC School of Data Science and Society, where they focus on recruiting distinguished faculty and enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration in data science. They have served as Associate Director of Informatics and Data Science at the NC TraCS Institute since 2011 and were previously the Executive Director at the Ohio Supercomputer Center from 2003 to 2009. Additionally, they are a Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have held various leadership positions, including Steering Committee Head of the National Consortium for Data Science. Stan earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clemson University and holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
