Duane Harkness

Duane Harkness is the current Chief Architect at Rendered.ai. Duane has over 20 years of experience in the software development industry, with a focus on systems engineering and network communications.

Harkness began their career in 1980 as a Computer Systems Analyst at Boeing. Duane spent the next 21 years at Boeing, working their way up to Senior Engineer. In 2001, they left Boeing to join Avaliant as a Senior Engineer. Duane spent 18 years at Avaliant, working on a variety of projects including cloud-based video imaging, control software for 3D printers, and data warehouse systems.

In 2019, Harkness left Avaliant to join Rendered.ai as Chief Architect. In this role, they are responsible for leading the engineering team and developing the company's software architecture.

Duane Harkness has a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Dakota, where they double majored in mathematics and philosophy with a minor in computer science. Duane also has certification from edX in Intermediate C++ and Introduction to C++, as well as certification from Coursera in Applied Data Science with Python Specialization and Python for Everybody, a 5-course specialization by University of Michigan on Coursera. Additionally, they have a certification from edX in Programming with Python for Data Science and Amazon Web Services in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
