Principal Database Systems Architect at Renewable Energy Systems

Alaina Donofrio has extensive work experience in database administration and architecture. Their most recent position was as a Principal Database Systems Architect at RES, a role they have held since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Medtronic as a Principal Database Administrator and was responsible for various tasks such as development, custom installations, troubleshooting, and reporting. Alaina also ensured the databases were HIPAA compliant and protected. Alaina also served as a Sr Database Administrator at Medtronic before their promotion to Principal.

Before their time at Medtronic, Alaina worked at Starz Entertainment as a Database Administrator. Here, they provided operational support for MSSQL and Oracle databases in a high availability and disaster recovery environment. Alaina also worked with MongoDB and instances at AWS. Prior to that, they served as a Sr SQL Server DBA at TransFirst, where they successfully migrated a 10TB OLTP system from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012 while incurring minimal downtime. Alaina also designed and built new database stacks for the Development and QA teams.

Alaina's work experience also includes roles as SR.SQL DBA/Team Lead and SQL DBA at Apollo Group, Lead Trainer/Application Implementation and Support Team Manager at DataPax, Database Administrator at SEIU Local 5 Arizona, and Database/Web Tech Mentor at TechSkills LLC. Alaina is highly skilled in various database technologies and has a strong background in system migrations, high availability, and ensuring database security and compliance.

Alaina Donofrio obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. Alaina also holds various certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals obtained in March 2020. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014 in October 2014, Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014 Databases in December 2013, Microsoft Certified Professional in December 2013, SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance in December 2012, SQL Server 2005 in July 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in January 2008, and another Microsoft Certified Professional certification in November 2007.
