Calum Byrom obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics (MPhys) with first-class honors from The University of Edinburgh, where they studied from 1993 to 1998. Calum then pursued their doctoral studies in Nuclear Fusion at The University of Manchester from 1998 to 2002, earning their PhD. In 2009, Calum attended The Open University for a project management course (M865) and obtained a degree in project management.
