Polys Georgiou has accumulated extensive work experience in various positions related to systems architecture, security, and software development. Polys is currently serving as the Head of Systems Architecture and Security at RES since November 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as the Lead Technical Architect at RES from February 2020 to November 2022. Before joining RES, Polys held the position of Systems Architect, Energy Storage at RES from July 2017 to February 2020. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Questionmark for a brief period from February 2017 to July 2017. Polys gained significant expertise as a Software Developer at RES (Renewable Energy Systems Ltd), where they developed bespoke web portals, data acquisition backends, and a reporting solution between September 2013 and February 2017. Before joining RES, they worked as a Freelance Software Developer from 2004 to 2012.

Polys Georgiou's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at the National Technical University of Athens. Polys pursued a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and completed their studies in 2011, earning a Dipl.-Ing. (MEng) degree. In 2012, Polys Georgiou attended King's College London, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Engineering with Business Management in 2013.

Aside from their academic achievements, Polys Georgiou has also obtained several certifications. In 2011, they obtained the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification from Microsoft. In 2012, they earned the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification. Continuing their professional development, they obtained the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) from the Association for Project Management in 2018. Furthermore, in 2021, they became a Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals. Most recently, in 2022, they achieved the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification, all from Microsoft.
