James Priestley

Managing Director - Municipal at Renewi Nederland

James Priestley is the current Managing Director of Municipal at Renewi Nederland. James has held this position since November 2016.

Previously, James was the Managing Director Municipal at a leading international waste to product business from January 2002 to December 2006. James was responsible for running the UK and Canada businesses with a turnover of over £150 million.

Before that, James was the Programme Director Engineering from January 2001 to December 2002 where they oversaw Europe's largest SAP implementation. James successfully re-engineered an entire business and delivered change to 7000 people. The operational performance improved and support costs were reduced as a result.

From January 2000 to December 2001, James was the Head of Programme Management and from January 1997 to December 2000, they were the General Manager Powerplant. Prior to that, they were the Business Manager Engineering from January 1996 to December 1997.

James Priestley has a MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and a first class degree in chemical engineering from University of Cambridge.

They are on a team with Maarten Buikhuisen - Chief Information Officer, Meinderdjan Botman - Managing Director, Commercial Waste Netherlands, and Jonny Kappen - Managing Director, Hazardous Waste. Their manager is Otto De Bont, Chief Executive Officer.
