Mary McCarthy

Mary McCarthy is an experienced higher education professional currently serving as the Undergraduate Class Dean at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since November 2022. Prior to this role, Mary held the position of Director of the Office of Student Leadership & Orientation at SUNY Cobleskill in 2022. From August 2012 to January 2022, Mary worked at the University at Albany, SUNY, transitioning from a focus on advocacy to full-time prevention education in sexual assault and violence prevention. Mary’s extensive background in student affairs includes various roles at multiple institutions, including residence director positions, academic advising, and leadership in campus life initiatives. Mary holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Speech Communications from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.
