R. Helen Zha

R. Helen Zha, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Chemical & Biological Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where research focuses on creating biohybrid materials to address challenges in healthcare and sustainability. In addition to academic responsibilities, R. Helen Zha serves as Associate Director at the New York Fashion Innovation Center. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Fellow positions at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in antimicrobial materials, and Eindhoven University of Technology, where research centered on nanostructured soft matter. Education includes a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, encompassing materials science and biomedical engineering. R. Helen Zha's extensive experience spans various internships, including research in advanced polymers at MIT and mechanical and materials science at Schlumberger.
