Vivek Ghosal

Vivek Ghosal currently serves as a Professor and Department Head of Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where responsibilities include expanding faculty expertise in various fields including Applied Microeconomics, Health Economics and Policy, Behavioral Economics, and Environmental Economics. In 2023, Vivek briefly held the position of Acting Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, overseeing multiple departments. Previously, from 2022 to 2023, Vivek was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade. Prior experience includes a Professorship at the Georgia Institute of Technology, visiting professorships at the Korea Development Institute and European Business School, consultancy with the OECD, and an economist role at the U.S. Department of Justice focusing on antitrust issues across various industries.
