Cara Schembri

Cara Schembri is the current General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Rent The Runway. Cara has held this position since November 2019. Prior to this, they were the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Assistant Secretary at Etsy, Inc. from September 2014 to November 2019. Schembri played a key role in growing and scaling Etsy’s global legal team, expanding international reach and in-house capabilities. Her focus areas included SEC reporting and compliance, corporate governance, ESG reporting/B Corp, employment and executive compensation, corporate finance, and M&A.

Before their time at Etsy, Schembri was Senior Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary at Avon Products, Inc. from September 2008 to September 2014. Prior to that, they were an Associate at Norton Rose Fulbright (f/k/a Fulbright & Jaworski) from January 2005 to December 2008 and at Sidley Austin from January 2003 to December 2005.

Cara Schembri attended The George Washington University Law School, where they received their JD with honors. Cara also attended Binghamton University, where they graduated summa cum laude with a BA in philosophy.
