Derek Carroll

Derek Carroll has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and research. Derek started their career as a Research Intern at Colorado State University from 2008 to 2011. Derek then worked as a Lab Technician at Cornell University in 2012.

From 2013 to 2014, Derek worked as a Product Engineer I at Parker Hannifin, where they were responsible for engineering analysis and simulation using CAE tools. Derek then advanced to the role of Product Development Engineer II, leading the design and development of innovative medical devices and serving as the primary customer contact and program manager for new programs.

Derek joined Repligen Corporation in 2017 as a Product Development Engineer, focusing on designing and integrating electromechanical systems for pharmaceutical filtration processes. Derek later became the R&D Manager, leading a cross-functional team in developing purification products and automation equipment.

In 2020, Derek transitioned to BD as a Staff Engineer - R&D, leading the development of design concepts and providing technical direction to engineers for the infusion delivery set program. Derek then assumed the role of Systems Engineering Manager, supporting the Infusion Delivery platform and leading interface requirements management efforts.

Currently, Derek is working as the Director of R&D at Repligen Corporation, where they serve as the site lead for the R&D group developing hollow fiber filtration products and leads cross-functional teams to develop new products using inline analytics technologies.

Derek Carroll completed their Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Cornell University from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, Derek has obtained certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in February 2021, and as a Smartsheet Solution Certified User from Smartsheet in October 2018.
