Riaj Mahamud

Riaj Mahamud, PhD, is a seasoned scientist specializing in cell culture and viral vector production, currently serving as a Sr. Scientist at Repligen Corporation since June 2021, where responsibilities include characterizing CHO cell culture processes and employing advanced retention methods for mAb production. Previously, Riaj worked as Scientist II at Repligen, focusing on the development of various AAVs and intensifying seed train processes. Earlier experience includes a role as Scientist in Cell Line Development at Takeda, conducting transfection and cloning for mAb production, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, targeting gene expression via AAVs in human primary cells. Riaj began a career as a Quality Control Officer at Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where microbiological quality assurance was the focal point. Academic credentials include a PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, alongside Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka.
