Ian Kirkpatrick has had a varied work experience, beginning in 2015 when they participated in the SAE Battelle CyberAuto Challenge for Competitor. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern for SRAM, LLC and was also the Marketing Chair for the Michigan State ACM Chapter. In 2018, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern for SRAM, LLC and was an Undergraduate Learning Assistant for Michigan State University. In 2019, they were an Associate Software Engineer and a Software Engineer for SRAM, LLC and an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Michigan State University. Ian is currently working as a Software Engineer for Replit since 2022.

Ian Kirkpatrick attended New Buffalo High School from 2011 to 2015. From 2014 to 2015 they attended Lake Michigan College, studying Mathematics. Ian then attended Michigan State University from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Science.
