Alaina Bookman is a Violence Prevention Reporter at Report for America since July 2023. Previously, Alaina served as a Public Affairs Intern at The University of Texas at Austin, where responsibilities included creating and curating social media content and leading engagement campaigns across various platforms. Experience also includes organizing and archiving materials for the AKA Scholars Black Diaspora Archive, writing and editing for the Pegasus Film Society, and working as a Student Clerk for the Dallas County Elections Department. Alaina holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Government from The University of Texas at Austin and an Associate of Arts degree from Dallas College.
