Report for America
Idalia G. is an experienced communications professional currently serving as a Communications Officer at Report for America since June 2021. Prior to this role, Idalia worked as a Digital Communications Strategist for the US Human Rights Network, developing comprehensive communication strategies across multiple platforms. Previous positions include Communications Consultant for One Million Degrees, Communications & Development Coordinator at The Harpswell Foundation, and Communications Intern at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Idalia has also contributed to public service as a Fellow in the Sargent Shriver Program and has teaching experience as an English Language Instructor in France. Education includes a Master of Arts in Human Rights from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from the University of Chicago. Additional studies in European History and French Literature were completed at Université Paris Cité.

Report for America is a national service program that places talented emerging journalists in local news rooms to report on under-covered topics and communities. Launched in Fall 2017 and donor-financed, Report for America is creating a new, sustainable system that provides Americans with the information they need to improve their communities, hold powerful institutions accountable, and rebuild trust in the media. Report for America is an initiative of The GroundTruth Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. GroundTruth is an award-winning nonprofit media organization with an established track record of training and supporting teams of emerging journalists around the world and in the United States.
