Norman Gobbi has served as a member of the Government of the Canton of Ticino since May 1999, currently holding the title of Consigliere di Stato and directing the Department of Institutions. Gobbi held the position of President of the Council of State during 2020-2021 and has been an active member of various commissions, including Management and Finance, Petitions and Appeals, Territorial Planning, Energy, Hospital Planning, and Schooling. In addition, Gobbi serves as President of the Fondazione Nizzola since January 2021, focusing on financial assistance for those affected by uninsurable natural events and promoting higher education among deserving residents. Other roles include membership on the board of the Fondazione Sasso San Gottardo and serving as Vice President of the Alpine Foundation for Life Sciences. Additionally, Gobbi has experience in the Swiss Federal Assembly as a National Councillor and has held various positions in administration and business development across multiple organizations. Educational qualifications include a degree in Business Communication from USI Università della Svizzera italiana and studies in Political Science at the University of Zurich.
