Cláudia S. Sarrico currently serves as the Secretary of State for Higher Education in the Republic of Portugal and is a Professor of Management at the Escola de Economia e Gestão at the University of Minho. With extensive experience as a Senior Researcher at the CIPES - Centro de Investigação de Políticas de Ensino Superior since 2007, Cláudia has contributed to significant European projects related to public sector research evaluation. Previous roles include Policy Analyst and ReICO Project Lead at the OECD and Visiting Researcher at Sciences Po. Cláudia has also held various academic positions at ISEG, served as an ENQA Review Expert, and participated in the scientific council of the Observatory of Science, Technology and Qualifications. Cláudia's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Industrial and Business Studies from the University of Warwick and a Habilitation in Social Sciences from Universidade de Aveiro.

O Governo conduz a política geral do país e dirige a Administração Pública, que executa a política do Estado. O Governo tem funções políticas, legislativas e administrativas. O Governo tem como funções: - relacionar-se com outros Estados e organizações internacionais, - propor leis à Assembleia da República, - estudar problemas e decidir sobre as melhores soluções (normalmente fazendo leis), - fazer regulamentos técnicos para que as leis sejam cumpridas, - decidir onde se gasta o dinheiro público. O Governo tem responsabilidades políticas perante o Presidente da República - a quem responde através do Primeiro-Ministro - e perante a Assembleia da República - através da prestação de contas da sua atuação política, respondendo às perguntas dos deputados.
