Joseph Lacap, Ph.D. has held a variety of roles in their work experience. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Construction Worker for Evans and Wallace Construction, and then as a Print Shop Worker for Anderson Large Format Digital Printing from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they were a Summer 2013 REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) for the Bucknell University Department of Chemical Engineering, where they researched the experimental error in the measurement of organic aerosol could formation properties. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Davis Green Technology Lab, where they developed lithium ion battery state of charge estimation algorithms and modular battery packs using second life electric vehicle cells. Since 2018, they have held the role of CTO at RePurpose Energy.
Joseph Lacap, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from Beloit College between 2010 and 2014. Joseph then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, which they completed in 2021. Prior to that, Joseph attended San Francisco Waldorf High School from 2006 to 2010.
