Kamal Raj has over 10 years of experience in environmental sustainability and impact projects. Kamal began their career in 2011 as a Concept Marketeer at Daily Dump. In 2012, they co-founded and became the Director of Reap Benefit, an environment services organization. From 2015 to 2021, they held the role of Lead, Solid Waste Management and Green Initiatives at Infosys. During this time, they were responsible for corporate strategy and implementation of SWM infrastructure across 16 Indian campuses. Kamal also achieved 100% in-house treatment of organic waste by commissioning 17 automated biogas plants and composting technologies. In 2021, they began their current role as Director of Impact Projects at rePurpose Global, the World's First Plastic Credit Platform.

Kamal Raj has a diverse educational background. Kamal completed their 10th grade at Air Force School in 2005. Kamal then pursued a BE degree in Biotechnology at CMR Institute of Technology and Visvesvaraya Technological University from 2007 to 2011. In 2019, they completed the ISWA SWISS Winter School in Landfill and Landfill Mining at The University of Texas at Arlington. Kamal is currently enrolled in a Post Graduate Program in Management at UCLA Anderson School of Management, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
