We are a Bangalore-based organisation committed to making museums in India more accessible, equitable and sustainable for their (local) communities. We work in three main areas - Audience Development for museums and heritage spaces, Capacity Building for museum professionals and Education for students and the public in general. Under Audience Development, we design and execute strategies and programs that help museums and cultural institutions better engage with and get closer to their audience, and increase their impact, all while creating a community of their own. Our interdisciplinary team builds strategic solutions that empower our clients to reach their maximum potential. Our wide range of expertise caters to museums that are at the conceptual level as well as to those that are established and running. Through our Capacity Building vertical, we run India’s first museum sector-focussed blog. We also conduct online workshops for museum and cultural professionals to enhance their skill sets. Under Education, we work towards one of ReReeti’s core aims, which is to make history relatable, relevant and reachable to young people. Our programmes and travelling exhibitions under Retihaas bring an intersectional and interdisciplinary lens to the study and understanding of the subject through interactive and engaging teaching modules for historical events. We also facilitate workshops and design educational programmes for schools and museums. Besides the above three verticals, we run the Indian Museums Against Climate Change (IMACC) programme. This is the organisation’s attempt at making the museums of India cleaner, greener and more sustainable. We work with museums to help them explore their collections in the context of ecology and climate change, support them in their institutional endeavours in incorporating a sustainable lens on collections and exhibition, and host capacity-building workshops to train museum staff in sustainable practices and interpretations.
