Steve Quan is an experienced scientist in the field of remote sensing and geomorphology, currently serving as an Applied Remote Sensing Scientist for the United States Federal Government since 2014 and as a Coastal Geomorphologist at Research Planning, Inc. since April 2012. Previously, Steve held the position of Hydrographer at California State University, Monterey Bay’s Seafloor Mapping Lab from September 2008 to March 2012. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Science with a focus on Applied Remote Sensing from George Mason University, obtained between 2016 and 2021, a Master of Science in Coastal and Watershed Science, also in Applied Remote Sensing from California State University, Monterey Bay, completed in 2011, and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems Science with a concentration in Remote Sensing from UC Irvine, earned in 2007.
