Maui Brennan is a Senior Economic Analyst at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand since January 2023, having published an Analytical Note on the New Zealand Phillips Curve. Prior experience includes a role as a trainee at the European Central Bank, where support was provided to economists on data analysis and modeling. As a Research Analyst Intern at Tokona Te Raki: Māori Futures Collective, Maui analyzed labor market data to identify in-demand skills for Māori communities. Additional research experience was gained at Motu Economic and Public Policy Research, focusing on indigenous beliefs and social/economic issues. Other roles include a tour guide, an intern at the Bank of New Zealand, and self-employment as a piano teacher. Maui holds a Master of Science in Economics from Università Bocconi and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury.
