Egor Dontsov

Chief Scientist at ResFrac Corporation

Egor Dontsov has a strong background in hydraulic fracture modeling and research. Egor started their career as a Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia, where they developed a proppant transport model that is currently used in the commercial hydraulic fracturing simulator ResFrac. Egor then worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston, where they continued their research on hydraulic fracture growth and developed semi-analytical solutions for fracture geometries. Egor also studied the effect of anisotropy of rock formation and investigated the impact of turbulent flow on fracture growth. Later, they joined W.D. Von Gonten Laboratories, LLC as a Senior Scientist, contributing to research in their field. Currently, they are working as the Chief Scientist at ResFrac Corporation.

Egor Dontsov earned their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Novosibirsk State University (NSU) from 2004 to 2008. Egor then pursued higher education at the University of Minnesota, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering from 2008 to 2012.
