George Jonas

George Jonas serves as the VP - Chief IP Counsel at Resideo since October 2020. Prior to this role, George held the position of Managing Counsel - Global Technology, Data and Brands at BP from December 2012 to October 2020, where responsibilities included leading a global technology legal team and overseeing a vast portfolio of over 1800 patents related to next-generation automotive fuels and technologies. George's previous experience includes serving as Vice President and Head Intellectual Property Counsel at SunPower Corporation, where an in-house IP team was built, and as Associate Intellectual Property Counsel at 3M, with early career experience at Kinney & Lange, P.A. and Underwriters Laboratories. Educational qualifications include a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a BS in Engineering from Marquette University.
