Theodore Athanasopoulos

Theodore Athanasopoulos has a diverse work experience. From 2020 to the present, they have served as the Chief Executive Officer at Cepal Hellas Financial Services S.A. Theodore also briefly held the position of Non-Executive Board Member at the same company in 2020. Starting from 2022, Theodore became the Chairman at EEDADP and previously acted as Vice Chairman from January 2022 to November 2022. In 2011, they joined Alpha Leasing, where they served as Vice Chairman of the Board and later became a Board Member until January 2019. Additionally, Theodore was a Board Member at ERMIS Ltd from February 2017 to November 2020. Prior to these roles, they worked at Alpha Bank for several positions, including Executive General Manager in the NPL Wholesale Division, Senior Manager in the Non Performing Loans Wholesale Division, Division Manager in the Wholesale NPLs Greece-Group Workout Unit, Assistant Division Manager in the NPL Workout Division, Relationship Manager in the Corporate Banking Division, and Credit Analyst. Their tenure at Alpha Bank lasted from 2000 to 2020.

Theodore Athanasopoulos holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Banking & Financial Management from the Department of Banking and Financial Management, which they obtained from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Banking & Financial Management from the same department, completing their studies from 1996 to 2000. Theodore has also acquired various certifications throughout their career, including an Executive Certification from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in April 2023, an Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy certification from MIT Sloan School of Management in May 2022, a Certificate in Global Management, Leading Digital Transformation and Innovation Programme, Leading For Results Programme, and Managing Partnerships and Strategic Alliances from INSEAD Executive Education in 2020, 2019, and 2016 respectively, as well as a Certificate in Corporate Finance from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) in 2007.
