Douglas Eyler

Hoistman at Resolution Copper

Douglas Eyler has extensive experience in underground mining operations, primarily in hoisting roles, spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a Hoistman at Resolution Copper since February 2017, Douglas has previously worked with companies such as Thyssen Mining, Brimstone Mining, Cementation USA, and Dynatec Mining in various hoistman and sinking hoistman positions. Key responsibilities have included operating and rehabilitating various hoist systems, participating in shaft sinking projects, and overseeing multiple hoists across different facilities. Douglas Eyler holds a diploma from Miami High School, where involvement in the National Honor Society and college preparatory studies was noted.

Resolution Copper

Resolution Copper is Arizona Copper. Our project, a proposed mine outside of Phoenix, Arizona, has the potential to support nearly 25% of U.S. copper demand, giving Americans access to a critical resource for our everyday lives and the clean energy transition. The copper from the mine will be used to produce vital products that modern society depends upon, such as electric vehicles, smartphones, renewable electricity generation and MRI scanners. Resolution Copper will also deliver significant economic growth to nearby communities and the state of Arizona by providing jobs, tax revenue, and increased local spending over the project’s 60-year lifespan. We are committed to being good stewards of the environment, protecting culture and heritage in the areas where we operate, and contributing to the long-term success of our communities.​ The project is a joint venture owned by Rio Tinto (55%) and BHP (45%).
