Billy Yumaine

Billy Yumaine has a diverse range of work experience in the field of public health and healthcare management. Billy currently works as a Senior Project Manager at Resolve To Save Lives, where they are part of the DRC A-Team. Prior to this, they served as an Expert in Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Health in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from November 2016 onwards.

In 2020, Billy held the position of Deputy Director of the National Program for Reproductive Health at the Ministry of Health in the DRC. This role lasted until March 2023. Before that, from January 2019 to February 2020, they served as the Deputy National Director of the National Border Hygiene Program at the Ministry of Health in the DRC, responsible for overseeing the implementation of the RSI-2005.

Billy also has experience working at the provincial level in the DRC. Billy served as a Medical Technical Inspector at the Provincial Health Inspection of Maniema from June to November 2016. Additionally, they held various roles at the Saramabia Health Zone, including Project Coordinator from December 2012 to November 2014 and Malaria Focal Point from October 2013 to February 2014.

Billy has worked as an Acting Medical Director at the Saramabila General Referral Hospital from September 2012 to February 2013. During the same period, they were a member of the Management Team of the Saramabila Health Zone.

Billy Yumaine has a diverse education history. In 2009-2010, they attended Université de Kinshasa and obtained a degree in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics. In 2013, they furthered their expertise in Paludology at Université de Kinshasa in collaboration with the World Health Organization. In 2014-2015, they attended Ecole de santé publique de l'Université de Kinshasa and achieved a specialization in Public Health with a Master's degree. Most recently, in 2019-2020, they worked as a Field Epidemiologist, Frontline at Direction de Surveillance Epidémiologique Ministère de la Santé RDC, with support from CDC Atlanta, focusing on Health and Sanitary Security.
