Vice President, Communications at Resolve To Save Lives

Erin Sykes has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and health. Erin started their career as a Medical Producer at WTVJ in 2004, where they developed health segments and supervised the editing process. In 2005, they joined NBC Universal as a Producer, producing news content focused on medical news for various NBC affiliates and international clients. Erin built and maintained relationships with reporters and producers across the country during their nine-year tenure.

In 2014, Erin worked as a Contractor in the News Media Branch of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CNI Technical Services, where they vetted and responded to media requests for the CDC Director, implementing high-priority media strategies. Erin also created preparation materials for the Director and the agency.

From 2015 to 2017, Erin served as a Health Communications Specialist in the Office of the Director, OADC, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this role, they acted as the press secretary for the CDC Director, handling media inquiries, coordinating press events, and providing communication support. Erin also provided counsel and expertise on communication and marketing and directed the development and dissemination of science-based products and messages to diverse audiences.

Since 2017, Erin Sykes has been working at Resolve to Save Lives, a global health initiative housed at Vital Strategies. Erin initially started as a Communications Director and later became the Vice President of Communications in 2020. Erin'sresponsibilities include developing and executing strategic communication plans, managing communication projects, and promoting recognition for the initiative in the fields of cardiovascular disease prevention and epidemic preparedness.
