Shawn Liu

Shawn (Qiang) Liu has extensive work experience in the field of laser engineering. Shawn (Qiang) started their career as a Research Assistant at McMaster University in 2000 and later worked as a Laser Technician at the University of Toronto from 2004 to 2005. In 2005, Shawn joined K.J Laser Micromachining as a Laser Engineer, where they worked until 2012. During this time, they gained valuable experience in laser applications. In 2012, they joined Resonetics as a Senior Laser Applications Engineer and later became the Principal Laser Application Engineer in 2020. Currently, Shawn is employed at Apple as a Laser Engineer, starting in 2023.

Shawn (Qiang) Liu completed their Bachelor's degree in Laser and Optical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology from 1992 to 1996. Shawn (Qiang) then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Laser and Optical Engineering at McMaster University from 1999 to 2001.
