Erik Makinson

Erik Makinson is an experienced sustainability professional with a strong background in business management and environmental solutions. As the Founder and President of Resource Synergy since September 2015, Erik has focused on helping Northwest organizations enhance brand value through sustainability initiatives. Additionally, Erik co-founded Terra Preta in January 2022, specializing in carbon sequestration through biochar production and marketing. Previously, Erik served as Director of Product Management and Director of Waste Solutions at Ecova, where responsibilities included product strategy, team leadership, and waste management solutions for national chains. Erik's career also includes a role as Sustainability Manager for The Coca-Cola Company's Wal-Mart Global Account Team and various positions at Camp Fire USA. Erik holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business from Presidio Graduate School and a B.A. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Seattle University.
