Kristin Hayes

Senior Director, Research And Policy Engagement at Resources for the Future

Kristin Hayes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations. Kristin started their career at the National Wildlife Federation, where they worked as a Coordinator for High School Programs from 2000 to 2003. In this role, they conducted trainings for students and educators and managed various conservation projects.

From 2003 to 2005, they worked at the National Wildlife Federation as a Manager for Institutional Giving. Their responsibilities included raising funds from government agencies, foundations, and corporations through proposal writing and developing data management solutions.

In 2005, they joined Conservation International as a Manager for Program Development. Here, they collaborated with field staff, regional partners, and donors to write proposals and reports supporting international conservation projects.

Subsequently, they worked at Fauna and Flora International/UN Foundation as a Fundraising Programme Officer from 2007 to 2009. In this role, they led the development of corporate partnerships and fundraising strategies to support international conservation projects.

Since 2009, Kristin has been working at Resources for the Future. Kristin started as a Research Associate and managed a multi-million dollar energy policy research study. Kristin then progressed to roles including Center Manager, Assistant Director, and Associate Director for the Center for Energy and Climate Economics. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director for Research and Policy Engagement where they engage with the research community and tracks climate, energy, and environmental policies at both federal and subnational levels. Kristin also manages programs and people, establishing metrics for success and communicating progress.

Kristin Hayes completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from William & Mary from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford from 1999 to 2000.
