Garrett Coyan

Garrett Coyan is an accomplished cardiac surgeon and medical professional serving as an Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery and Congenital Heart Surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since December 2023. Currently, Coyan holds the position of Chief Medical Officer at Respair, Inc. and Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Neoolife, Inc., a venture co-founded with a focus on cardiovascular tissue engineering. Prior experience includes a fellowship in Congenital Cardiac Surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where Coyan advanced skills in pediatric mechanical circulatory support and complex congenital heart surgery. Additionally, a residency in cardiothoracic surgery was completed at UPMC, and a post-doctoral fellowship took place at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
