Mark Borden

Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Respirogen

Mark Borden has a diverse work experience in academia and industry. Mark started their career as a Project Scientist in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis in 2004. In 2007, they became an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University. In 2010, they joined the University of Colorado Boulder and held various positions, starting as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering and progressing to Associate Professor and then Professor. Currently, they are the Director of Biomedical Engineering at the University. In 2016, they had a sabbatical at Università degli Studi di Firenze as a Visiting Professor in Electrical Engineering. In 2017, they co-founded Respirogen and served as the Chief Scientific Officer.

Mark Borden completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Mark continued their education at the University of California, Davis, from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering.
