Lisa Schmitt is an experienced Investment Director at Rentenbank, focusing on impacting agriculture, food, and nature through investments in venture capital. Since May 2021, Lisa has also served as an Investment Manager at RESPOND Accelerator, taking on the role of Lead Coach for Agri-Food in 2024. Previously, Lisa held the position of Investment Manager at KfW Capital, where responsibilities included promoting ESG and impact investing and conducting due diligence on European venture capital funds. Earlier career experiences include roles in capital markets at KfW, group controlling at Merck KGaA, discretionary portfolio management at Berenberg, and advisory services at KPMG. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Business Administration from Goethe University Frankfurt and further studies at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and Beijing Normal University.

The RESPOND Accelerator is an international startup acceleration program for deep-tech climate startups. We support founders from across the globe to accelerate and scale businesses that contribute to the transition towards a net-zero economy. RESPOND is designed to equip entrepreneurs with a holistic set of skills that go beyond business and technology development. We center our efforts on leadership development, providing entrepreneurs with the space they need to take a long-term, systemic perspective to building businesses that contribute to global sustainability goals.
