With eighteen years of experience in international energy and sustainability research and policy, Maria has contributed to significant projects, including those on sustainable energy access and just transition processes in carbon-intensive regions. Maria has also worked as an independent consultant, providing expertise to various organizations, and has held research positions at prominent institutions, including the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. Maria holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and is pursuing a PhD in Business and Economics at Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
