Josephine Jänicke

Josephine J. is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universität Freiburg since March 2023, following a successful tenure as a PhD Researcher at the CHESS Centre for Health Equity Studies from May 2016 to March 2023. Prior to this, Josephine J. contributed as a Guest Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in early 2022 and served as a Technical Officer and Consultant at the World Health Organization between January 2013 and April 2016, including an internship in the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Early career roles included Coordinator of the World Health Summit's Academic Office at Charité from August 2008 to October 2010. Josephine J. holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health Sciences from Stockholm University, and advanced degrees from EHESS, Linköping University, and Maastricht University, with ongoing studies at Oslo and Akershus University College.
