Dan Scheeler, CAE

Chief Operating Officer at Results Direct

Dan Scheeler, CAE has over 30 years of experience in the association and nonprofit sector. Dan began their career in 1990 as a Production Editor for Scan C2C, where they produced and delivered monthly updates of a Japanese science and technology database, oversaw typesetting, printing, and shipping of 31 monthly publications, and monitored Japanese business dailies. In 1992, they became a Librarian for the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, where they ran a research library focusing on contemporary Japan, conducted research, and provided relevant information and referrals in response to reference inquiries. In 2000, they worked as a Resources Channel Manager for PlanetGov, where they developed and maintained an online resources channel of original content, links, forms, and pay tables for government and military professionals. From 2001 to 2010, they worked for the American Health Care Association, first as Director of Information Services and then as Assistant Website Developer, where they maintained the Intranet, members-only Extranet, and public web sites for AHCA and NCAL. From 2010 to 2015, they were the Director of Digital Strategy for the National Quality Forum, where they consulted with fellow staff on business needs and organizational goals, and provided guidance and solutions in the development of online initiatives and tools. Most recently, they were the Executive Vice President of Client Engagement at Results Direct, where they led a team of account and project managers in developing and maintaining websites and applications for over 60 associations, coached and mentored the client engagement team, and worked with organizations’ leadership and staff to identify and prioritize member needs and organizational goals.

Dan Scheeler, CAE obtained their BS from Georgetown University in Japanese Language and Literature between 1985 and 1990. Dan also studied Japanese at International Christian University and Sophia University from 1987 to 1989 as a Rotary Foundation Scholar. From 1996 to 2000, they completed graduate coursework in Library and Information Sciences at Catholic University. In 2013, they obtained Certified Association Executive (CAE) certifications from both ASAE and ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership.
