Samrat Basak

Samrat Basak is a purpose-driven water and environment professional with over 22 years of experience at the intersection of science, policy, business, and community resilience. They have trained as a Hydrogeologist and Water Resources Management specialist and have worked across diverse sectors, including government agencies and corporations, to address critical challenges related to environmental pollution and water security. Currently, Samrat serves as the Director at Resilience Actions and the Principal Advisor at Re Sustainability Limited, while previously holding the position of Director - Water Resilience at WRI India and Partner at ERM. Samrat holds an MSc in Hydrogeology from the University of Reading and a Master’s degree in Applied Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. They thrive on building partnerships that transform scientific knowledge into actionable solutions for resilient water futures.
