Maryam Khaniyan, MOTR/L, CHT has a diverse range of work experience. Maryam is currently working at RET Physical Therapy Group as a Hand Therapist and Clinic Director. Prior to that, they worked at IRG Physical & Hand Therapy as a Hand Therapist. Maryam also has experience as a Research Assistant at Tufts University Cognitive Aging and Memory lab and as a Graduate Research Assistant at MGH Disparities Research Unit and UMass Boston. Maryam has a fellowship experience in Hand & Upper Extremity Rehabilitation at Massachusetts General Hospital, where they worked with patients with hand injuries/surgeries, provided patient education, splinted, managed scars, and created exercise programs. Additionally, they worked as an Occupational Therapist at Bahar Rehab Clinic, where they managed a caseload of patients, provided therapy, completed documentation, and coordinated care with an interprofessional team. Maryam has also conducted home visits to patients with stroke, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's during their time at the clinic.

Maryam Khaniyan, MOTR/L, CHT began their education in 2006 at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Occupational Therapy/Therapist in 2010. Maryam continued their studies at the same university and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Rehabilitation Management from 2010 to 2013. Maryam then pursued a Master's Degree in Gerontology at UMass Boston from 2013 to 2016. From 2016 to 2017, they attended Tufts University, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy/Therapist. During this time, they also earned a Certificate of Advanced Professional Practice in Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation from Tufts University in September 2016. In April 2017, they obtained a Car-Fit Technician Certification from Tufts University.
