James Botha, AIA, LEED AP, currently serves as Senior Project Architect and Associate at RDC, an award-winning design collaborative in the retail, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, since March 2023. In addition to this role, James is the President of the Retail Design Institute, a position held since July 2021. Previous experience includes Design Practice Leader at Bergmeyer, Director of Global Architecture and Store Design at Tapestry, and Senior Project Manager of International Architecture and Store Design at Coach, where significant responsibility was taken for global store expansion initiatives. James’s professional background also includes positions at Jones Apparel Group, Kenneth Cole Productions, Cite Design, and Otto Design Group, demonstrating a diverse expertise in retail design and project management across various international markets.
