Helen Charlton

Helen Charlton serves as the Chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel since June 2022 and holds the position of Non-Executive Director at the Retail Energy Code Company since May 2021. As a Trustee and Chair of the Board of Trustees for the British Gas Energy Trust from March 2019, Charlton oversees charitable activities focusing on poverty alleviation, particularly fuel poverty. Previous roles include independent consulting for Sia Partners and educational consultancy with Schoolsmart, alongside significant contributions to consumer advocacy through positions at the Consumer Council for Water and as a Board Member for Postwatch. Charlton has a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Cambridge and has been actively involved in various charitable and community initiatives, including project evaluation for The Henry Smith Charity.
