Melissa Sharp Murdock has a diverse work experience in communications, public affairs, and public policy. Melissa is currently serving as the Vice President of Communications and Media Relations at the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) since June 2019. Previously, they worked at WorldatWork from April 2012 to March 2019 as the Director of External Affairs, where they were responsible for directing public policy, public affairs, and media relations activities. Before that, Melissa worked as a Contracts Manager at Aerotek - MedImmune, LLC from August 2011 to March 2012. Melissa also served as an Ambassador at Fuse Pilates from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they worked at the National Federation of Independent Business as a Senior Media Manager from 2005 to May 2011. Melissa started their career as a Special Assistant to Commissioner Russell Redenbaugh at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights from January 2003 to March 2005.

Melissa Sharp Murdock obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Political Science from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Later, they pursued their studies in law at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree between 2005 and 2009.
