Rodney Barstein

Rodney Barstein has extensive work experience in the retail industry. Rodney currently holds the position of Executive Vice President/ Chief Development Officer at Retail Specialists since May 2014. Previously, they were the President of Barstein & Associates, Inc., a real estate development and management firm founded in 1989. Rodney also served as the Founding Partner, Past President, and CEO of Simply Fashion Stores, Ltd. from December 1991 to May 2014, where they successfully led the company through bankruptcy acquisition and managed various aspects of the business. Prior to that, they were the President of Bargain Town USA, overseeing all operations of the retail company. At the beginning of their career, they worked as a Tax Consultant at Touche Ross, providing advice on tax planning and financial issues for private companies and high net worth individuals.

Rodney Barstein pursued their higher education starting with their graduation from Indian Springs High School in 1975. Rodney then enrolled at The University of Alabama, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Arts and Sciences in 1979. Building upon their undergraduate studies, they attended The University of Alabama School of Law from 1979 to 1982, earning a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Additionally, in 1980, Rodney Barstein attended New York University School of Law for summer school law classes. To further enhance their legal knowledge, they pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Taxation at SMU Dedman School of Law from 1982 to 1983.
