Jason Luther

CTO at RetailNext

Jason Luther is the head of engineering at RetailNext, where he oversees both frontend and backend development of the RetailNext SaaS platform. Under Jason’s vision and leadership, the engineering and product teams are responsible for the design, creation and implementation of integrated cloud platforms to drive the success of customers’ retailing enterprises.

Additionally, within his role, Jason is accountable for keeping up with new technologies, both shopper-facing and back-of-the-house, and identifying the opportunities and correct schema in further developing the RetailNext platform.

Jason joined RetailNext through its acquisition of Nearbuy Systems, where he was the director of product management, responsible for the product vision and roadmap for Nearbuy’s cloud-based Wi-Fi retail analytics and shopping personalization platform. Using Kanban principles to manage workflow, Jason’s engineering team was able to continuously deliver value to customers through a cloud service and on-premise hardware platform.

In addition to his RetailNext and NearBuy Systems experience, Jason spent more than a decade working to make wireless LANs easier to manage at AirWave Wireless (acquired by Aruba Networks in 2008).

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
