Deirdre Mortell

Deirdre Mortell is a prominent social entrepreneur and leader in the field of social innovation in Ireland, currently serving as the CEO of Rethink Ireland, a non-profit growth capital fund focused on addressing critical social issues. Mortell has held various influential roles including Entrepreneur in Residence at University College Cork and Social Entrepreneur in Residence at Trinity College Dublin. Additionally, Mortell has contributed to public service innovation as an advisor to the Irish government's Public Service Innovation Advisory Board. A co-founder of One Foundation, Ireland's first venture philanthropy fund, Mortell's extensive experience spans directorships in organizations like Women for Election, Uplift, and Headstrong, the latter focusing on youth mental health. Mortell holds an MPhil in Women's Studies from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Cork.
