Ian Jackson has extensive experience in commissioning and contract management within the NHS. Currently serving as the Director of Commissioning for Specialised Commissioning at NHS England since December 2016, Ian also holds roles related to the Covid-19 response. Ian’s previous positions include Head of Contracts at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and Head of Contracts and Procurement at Canterbury and Coastal and Ashford CCGs, where responsibilities encompassed managing substantial contract portfolios. Ian's early career includes significant roles at NHS Ealing, focusing on primary care commissioning, as well as experience in public health management and IT recruitment. Ian is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and completed the Top Managers Programme at The King's Fund. Ian holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from Nottingham Trent University.
