Derek Lynch, CPCU, ARM, AIS, CBIA has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. From 2019 to present, they have been the Chief Underwriting Officer, Director of Underwriting- Commercial Lines, and Senior Underwriter for reThought Insurance Corporation. From 2018 to 2019, they were an Instructor for the Richmond CPCU Society. From 2008 to 2018, they were an Insurance Agent for Towne Insurance.

Derek Lynch holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Lynchburg, which they obtained between 2004 and 2008. Derek also holds four certifications from The Institutes and Builders Mutual Insurance Company. These include a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (obtained in December 2012), an Associate in Risk Management (obtained in October 2015), an Associate in Insurance Services (obtained in December 2016), and a Certified Builders Insurance Agent (obtained in August 2017). Additionally, they hold a CPCU, ARM, AIS in P&C Insurance from The Institutes, which they obtained between 2010 and 2018.
