Dr. Mukkamala is a Co-Founder of Retia Medical and led the development of the MBA algorithm. He is a Professor of Bioengineering and Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is known for advancing hemodynamic monitoring by blood pressure waveform analysis and blood pressure measurement. He is an NIH-funded researcher and has been published in Science Translational Medicine, Scientific Reports (a Nature journal), IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, and American Journal of Physiology. He holds 15 issued and a number of pending patents. He received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Engineer in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
